Job Vacancy Training Officer, Vienna

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Chief, Training Section, On-Site Inspection Division, (OSI), to: Participate in the development and update the OSI Training and Exercise Programme (TEP) particularly for the training cycle of participants in OSI field exercises by analyzing training needs and evaluating effectiveness of existing training programme against training criteria. Participate in the design and organize individual training courses and field training activities based upon a specified organizational outcome and participate in their delivery with evidence of the use of different styles including facilitation, group exercises, practical sessions, formal input. Plan and conduct OSI outreach activities for experts of States Signatories and diplomatic personnel. Collaborate in development and implementation of appropriate training methods, including multimedia technologies, distance learning techniques and e-learning. Participate in maintenance of the roster of potential inspectors for training by assuring their regular communication and exchange of information. Draft substance matter materials related to the above including concept papers, proposals, reports, talking points and notes for senior management. Pursue active contacts with potential international host institutes and lecturers and international participants and trainees. Pursue active contacts with other divisions and sections of the PTS, especially Finance and Legal, as part of the accomplishment of this activity. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in OSI related techniques or a related field or political sciences. At least five years relevant working experience preferably part of which should have been in an international environment, in training management and the organization and conducting of training activities both inside and outside the duty station that range from highly technical specialized training sessions to training for managers and supervisors in social skills and human interaction; excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency in the use of standard office software. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Working knowledge of one of the other official languages of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission is an asset.

Ability to make sound and timely decisions.


REMUNERATION/CONTRACT:
Depending on professional background and experience, indicative tax-free annual net base salary (inclusive of a variable element for post adjustment) from US$86,701 (without dependants) and US$92,885 (with dependants), subject to deductions of contributions to the CTBTO Provident Fund and Health Insurance Scheme. Additional benefits include, when applicable, dependency allowance, education grant for children, rental subsidy, six weeks vacation per year, home leave travel every two years.  Initial contract for a fixed term of three years.
