Purpose of the Position
Overall, you will coordinate and manage the planning, monitoring and evaluation commitment of the country programme with a broad range of projects, including programme formulation, design, planning and management focused on achievement of UNICEF's Organizational priorities.

Key Expected Results
1. Country programme management strengthened by effective knowledge management and system.
2. You will prepare and update Situation Analysis, critical programme intervention measures identified, and programme work plans andrecommendations prepared and incorporated. Programme reports prepared as required.
3. Programme funds optimally used.
4. You will plan, monitor and evaluate programme effectively conducted to improve programme performance, including under emergency situations, and programme status report timely prepared.
5. Rights based and results based programming approach fully incorporated into all phases of programme and projects processes.
6. Commitment and institutional capacities of the national and local partners effectively gained and established.
7. Rights based evidence and advocacy at the national, community and family levels incorporated in policy analysis for establishing and elevating UNICEF's credibility in national and international policy debates.
8. Effective partnership and collaboration achieved and maintained within UN and with other development partners for advocacy, technical cooperation, programme development, management, and coordination information sharing and networking.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Government, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines, with specialized training in conflict resolution.
Eight years of relevant professional work experience. Developing country work experience. Background/familiarity with Emergency.
Design and management of field research.
Vulnerability and capacity analysis and contingency planning.
Rights-based and Results-based approach and programming in UNICEF.
UNICEF programme policy, procedures and guidelines in the Manual.

Mid-Term Strategic Plan (MTSP)
Fluency in English and another UN language.
